Hi,

I remember running into these on the Internet some time ago, they are very well drawn bootleg backpacks which I vaguely remember girls in elementary school having. They are apparently parodies of "Peanuts, the world-famous comic strip by Charles M. Schulz"

These are the two I could find online:

I can't find any information on Google about these backpacks other than "Who TF is this guy?" and a post here where the embedded image was dead.

Did anyone have these backpacks, where they/their parents bought it, or know more about them? Seems like a very good mystery for the Sailor V's here to investigate :)

The original (Peanuts) is by Charles M. Schulz, not Jones.

Beyond that, however, I could only find two references to any Ishihara being related to Sailor Moon. One's a minor character, the other is Shinichi Ishihara, who was one of the performers of Ai No Etude.

Doesn't seem like either of those are why the creator of the bootleg backpack chose that name, though.

The whole thing is very ridiculously funny. I've always thought bootlegs can be quite creative in a sense. lol

Corrected, sorry I had to leave the house quickly.

Charles M. Jones was a Looney Tunes director.

I was thinking more the Ishihara color blindness test, where you look for the numbers in the dots.

Huh. That's kind of funny considering how many bootleg products use the wrong colors. :P

I was thinking of the wrong colors used in precisely those backpacks while reading that above-quoted post. lol
