Thank you! She's almost done...did a few more tweaks and will be attaching her to the display stand soon. :)

Well, today is my day off. This allowed me to make my touch ups, drilling and gluing where it was needed.

She stands about a foot tall with the display base, and is made up of 16 different pieces.

The staff is something you have to provide, but the wand and butt cap are molded parts

So that being said, here is Eternal Sailor Moon. :-D

I like the colors you chose. Good job.

Every now and then I see some garage kits that are professionally painted, but with bad color decisions... like using "metallic" colors to paint Sailor Moon's skirt, wings, etc.

Thank you, Rika, Black_Chaos and Eric!

Eric, to further discuss what you said, I know what you mean. I am NOT a fan of that look. I always envision the sailor fuku as something soft, and not all glimmer looking. I have seen outfits that were painted using all oil paints and I felt that it made it look rigid...nice and shiny, but rigid, which is just not my preference.

I do like to use oil paints where I think they are appropriate....shoes, ribbons, hair pins, etc.

I used oil paint here on the shoulder pads and in her odongo jewels, but I avoided using them else where. I debated on making her ribbons oil painted, but I feel the wings are a big enough focal point that it wouldn't stand out as much.

One of my favorite uses was on the two Sailor Jupiter models I posted before, where the pink ribbons looked bright, and popped in appearance against the flat colors.

I also intend to use oil paints when I get to the Starlights, as their outfits were clearly leather vs fabric, so it only makes sense to me there.

I have no qualms when people use it for their work, as long as the kit comes out looking good...just not for me.

Yeah, from what I was able to see, you're one of the those few artists who actually know color, the subtleties of color, and how to use colors appropriately.

Wonderfully painted model kits.

Got hit up for 2 commission jobs, one of Spike from Cowboy Bebop and another for a character named Haruhi from an anime I'm not familiar with.

I'll post again when I hit my next Sailor Moon based kit. :)

You might also post your non-Sailor Moon works on the OT subforum. :)

Ok, so it's been a very long time since I posted anything in here! Sadly, today I am not posting any photos, but now that I have time again, I will be getting back to the hobby very shortly!

As a hint for what's coming next, I'll say "they" go along very well with the last piece I did, and I'll have to try a new technique to make leather stand out and not look too flat.

I'm sure that's an almost dead give away, but feel free to guess in the mean time!

*edit...of course now I'm seeing it's Chibi Chibi month...maybe I'll try to swing that character first....either way, she'll go well with Eternal Sailor Moon and the mystery models I mentioned prior.

Rika wins!

Yeah, the Star Lights....obviously. lol

Sat down and painted what will be their display bases and painted the 3 heads of the models today. Yaten's shade of Sephiroth grey was a nightmare to get right, but who doesn't love a bit of a challenge.

So for now, here is the first progress pic of the love em or hate em trio.

And now for the wrap up of the night, here's everyone's eyes in color....albeit more work is still needed on Yaten.

Ohh, all of these look lovely! Can't wait to see Chibi Moon done! Right now I think I'm torn between Venus and Moon on which one I like more. XD The action poses all of them have are stellar, though.

eheheh stellar

And it turns out I'm a even bigger dork since I missed page 2 and 3

I'm hoping I'll get more time to work on these this week and not have to wait till Sunday again. Doesn't help that my airbrush isn't working properly, so I had to paint these by hand today, and at this scale it's a bit time consuming.

That being said, here is today's progress. Had to use a different primer for Seiya's leg as the grey ran out...which also makes these all look like Batgirl legs.

They would certainly get more body protection that way, wouldn't they.

Perhaps you might consider painting their whole bodies Batgirl-like?

Not a chance. But if someone wanted to photoshop it, that would be kinda neat to see.

BTW, I think the Starlights' outfits feel more like Catgirl's than Batgirl's. lol

And another progress picture for the evening...pardon the "whoops" here and there, but rest assured those will get fixed soon enough.

A few nights ago I logged into my Hulu account and I saw Sailor Stars is now playing (legally) for the first time in the USA!

Than I realized it's been over four months since I posted any work in here...and just as long since I touched any kits...eek!

So, the last few days have had me busting my butt working on where I left off, jamming out to the music of The Three Lights (as well as Stars awesome intro Makenai) and I am now pleased to say the Starlights are in the 90 percent range...tomorrow I will paint their earrings and transformation jewels, than pull out the pins and glue to complete the process.
